Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
- Add the ground meat and cook until browned.
- Stir in the carrots, tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Assembly
- Roll out the pastry and line a pie dish with it.
- Add the meat filling.
- Cover with another layer of pastry and seal the edges.
- Brush the top with beaten egg.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For kids, serve smaller slices with a side of ketchup or mild gravy. Consider serving with mashed potatoes or a salad for a balanced meal. Individual hand pies can be made for lunches.
